Large Lot of Viewmaster Viewers and Reels Over 1000

Description

Up for auction is a very large lot of Viewmaster Viewers and Reels.  I have been collecting for a long time, garage sales, estate sales, ebay, retail sales and flea markets, wherever i came across the reels.  The viewers started with the common square viewers, then as i kept looking other unusual ones found, circular ones are early, then Tru-Vue, the unusual one from 1933 Worlds Fair with the slides included, eventually plastic in the 1960s.   The True Vue are ones used with film strip and metal viewer.  There is a box of film strips as a collection in original brown case.  It was difficult to keep up with viewers but the reels became overwhelming.  That is why i am selling. It took a long time to sort and store the reels.  They start with the handwritten ones, blue background special sleeve. There are singles, collection of special items (flowers and locations).  You will notice how the viewers developed, started with travel and historical places, then places of interest, Hollywood, Fantasy stories, animals, nursery rhymes, movies, cartoons.  Then the packages with booklets and three reels in each package.  From there the singles stopped and only the ones from local attractions, like single from Niagra  Falls, and the packet of Niagra Falls.  So many duplicates showed up.  Viewmasters were used in school, individually and with projector.  There is a viewmaster with a light which is included in this lot.
The condition of the reels are based on age and who used them.  They were very popular, kids loved them and they were found all over the house.  I can say over the years i looked at them at least once, and going through them now to get a count and sort them.  I have a wonderful book, by John Waldsmith, that was a tremendous help.  It also has the original Stereo Views and Viewer made of wood and metal.  I kept these.
Taking pictures were hard, I have the collection of viewers and reels, so i put the popular and unusual in front.  If you are looking for something special, email me and i will look.  No promises on the reels, but I will try, so much to cover.  The lot includes the four original boxes and the boxes for the viewers as well.
